It’s days like this that I wish blogging was a paying day job.
*sigh*
I had to turn down a really fun fashion challenge by a great Irish magazine because it clashed with my real world job.
I’m annoyed.
*shakes fist*

My only consolation is that I have money to buy my Autumn wardrobe!

Fantabulous Foto Friday and a Competition

It’s been a while since I’ve had a give-away, so I hope you enjoy this one!

The lovely Zoë Wong of Style Wars fame (who I actually mentioned a few weeks ago) contacted me with this wonderful opportunity to present one of you with some lovely gifts from her own collection, West129.
She makes beautiful vintage-inspired chains for all glasses (geek, sun and other). The idea was conceived in New York City after Zoë created a one-of-a-kind eyeglass chain for her mother, but West 129 products are now designed and handmade in Dublin.

Sorry about the big gap between posts!
Last week was manic in work and I couldn’t stand to look at a computer once I left the office on Friday!
Also apologies for minimal comment-backing, because the being wrecked in work meant I was knackered by the time I got home and general posting drained me.
As well as that, lots of you Blogger Users haven’t adjusted comment settings so lots of us Open ID peeps can’t comment and knowing that after going to all the effort of typing a comment, putting in my name and blog URL, proving I’m not a robot by typing out ridiculously squiggly letter combinations and then knowing I’ll probably be told my comment won’t be posted because of some settings issue is REALLY off-putting when I’m struggling to stay awake!

But I’m back to normal this week and hopefully your Blogger problem will sort itself out!

Random Topic No.1:
I was finally persuaded to watch Flight of the Conchords, which I resisted for a huge period of time because I just didn’t like the clips I was shown.
And yeah, it’s actually amazing!
Most of the songs and clips aren’t funny on their own on Youtube, but when you watch them in the episode, they’ll HIGHlarious!
So you guys should watch it if you haven’t.
White Rabbit, you’ve watched it more than enough….

Random Topic No.2:
So while my regular taste in music is quite respectable with my iPod containing the likes of Blondie, Springsteen, The Smiths and various singer-songwriters, I do to indulge in some bubblegum pop…or bubblegum country pop…also known as Taylor Swift!
Ah bless her, she’s a pet!
And her new song Mine is kinda great…

I have a treat for you all…

Yup, I feel really bad that I haven’t been the best of bloggers during the last few weeks due to crazy work schedules and being sick, so I’m going to give you something that will hopefully make you guys forgive me!

Remember I told you about the wonderful DotComGiftShop where I bought a GIANT box of stuff for the new apartment (lol, which we still haven’t got!)?

Well, I got in touch with the online shop’s lovely press office and told them how simply lovely you all are and how I’d love to give you something, and the sweetheart that is Ade said, “Sure, we’ll give you this and you can hold a competition….”

How amazing!!!!

It’s a vintage organiser and it’s actually a lovely pale cream colour (the camera flash made it look white) and I actually bought one myself with the intention of putting it into my hallway in such a manner:

Lol, I know there isn’t a vintage organiser in that pic, but I intend to remove the flowers and put the V.O there instead and either move the mirror higher or to the side.

But you guys don’t have to do that.

You guys can do whateeeeeeeever you want with it.

So anyway, yes, super awesome prize, right???? I’m just dying to start putting letters and keys and other such household items into my one!

The Military Jacket Winner ….and another surprise!

So ….it’s the moment of truth.

After an agonising week of waiting, we will now find out who the winner of the beautiful BB Dakota jacket is.

Well you guys will …obviously I already know!

When I was telling The Boy about this, his first question was whether or not I’d be disappointed if it was won by someone who was just a once-off visitor of A Chick Named Hermia.

And as it happens, I’ll never find out because it’s been won by a loyal reader of the blog and a volunteer of my new project, Diamond in the Rough: the place where the undiscovered must-read blogs go (it’s coming REALLY soon!)….

Just a quick check-in!!!

Tiring weekend, my dears, but Hurrah, it’s a Loooooong Bank Holiday Weekend for me, so I’ve another two days out of work!

I’m going to spend tonight catching up on all your blogs and maybe attempt to start organising all those competition entries before they get on top of me, lol! You’ve all been so enthusiastic, which is just great!!!

Je suis incredibly happy today….

…because mon petit ami’s plane from Lyon will arrive in Dublin at 5:30pm and I will see him for the first time in three weeks at roughly 5:50pm!!!!

I really want to spread the happiness to each and every one of you!
